What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help a site function, remember your preferences, and understand how it is used. “Similar technologies” include things like local storage.

Cookies we use today

Google Tag Manager loads on every page of the Site, but under Google Consent Mode with all four consent signals — analytics storage, advertising storage, ad user data, and ad personalization — set to denied. While they are denied, no analytics or advertising cookie or identifier is written to your device. A cookieless signal is still sent to Google containing your IP address, the URL of the page you are viewing, and the interaction and conversion events you trigger on the Site — such as submitting a form — together with the campaign parameters in the link that brought you here; Google uses it only to estimate aggregate traffic and conversion counts, not to build a profile of you.

The list below covers every cookie the Site can set, and what turns each one on.

NEXT_LOCALE — strictly necessary. Remembers your language (English or French). Contains no personal information and is required for the Site to work in your chosen language. Expires when you close your browser.

hubelia_consent — strictly necessary. Records the cookie choices you make in the banner so we do not ask again on every page. Expires 180 days after your choice.

_ga, _ga_* — analytics. Set by Google Analytics 4 to measure how the Site is used; they store a pseudonymous identifier, not your name. Expire about two years after your last visit. Written only after you accept the Analytics category.

hub_attr — analytics. Records the campaign, referring site, and landing page of your first visit so we can tell which campaign an enquiry came from. Expires 90 days after it is set. Written only after you accept the Analytics category; before that, the same values are held in your browser’s memory for the rest of your visit — they follow you from page to page, but nothing is stored on your device and they are discarded when you close the tab.

You can withdraw your consent at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link. The consent signals return to denied, no further analytics or advertising cookie is written, and we remove our own hub_attr attribution cookie from your device. The Google Analytics cookies can be cleared through your browser settings.

Cookie categories

Strictly necessary — required for the Site to function, including the language and consent cookies above. These are always active and cannot be switched off.

Analytics — helps us understand how the Site is used so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics 4 (the _ga / _ga_* cookies) and our own hub_attr attribution cookie. Nothing is written to your device until you accept this category.

Marketing — used to measure advertising and to attribute an enquiry to the campaign that produced it. We use Google Ads. Advertising storage, ad user data, and ad personalization stay denied, and no advertising cookie is written, until you accept this category. The hub_attr campaign cookie belongs to the Analytics category, so accepting Marketing on its own does not enable it.

Managing your preferences

You can review or change your choices at any time using the button below or the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though the Site may not remember your language if you do.
